The awards we receive are a public recognition of the quality of our services and the sustainability that we practice in all our businesses. Sharing these achievements with all employees and celebrating another year of great victories is part of our culture.
Our company has a history of leadership in the Brazilian power sector, contributing to the country's economic progress and to the comfort and safety of millions of citizens. Our business model is vertical and diversified, covering all energy segments: generation, transmission, distribution, and services and solutions for customers.
In the neighborhood of Barão Geraldo, in Campinas (SP), where the University of Campinas (UNICAMP) is located, we created one of the largest living laboratories to test new technologies and innovations in the electricity sector: the Living Lab. The total investment in the project is R$ 95 million.
In 2019, we approved the Sustainability Plan 2020-2024, which is in line with Strategic Planning to enhance the positive impacts of our businesses. The actions of the Sustainability Plan are organized into three pillars, for which we have defined 15 commitments.
Our 15 commitments
Our business model has great potential to contribute to a cleaner energy matrix and one that is less dependent on fossil fuels. Ensuring the safety of our employees and the general population is a priority for all our businesses.
The company's diversity of operations demands a far-reaching capacity to manage and monitor environmental impacts. The guidelines and processes we have adopted are unified in the Environmental Management System (EMS), and calibrated according to all the legal requirements applicable to generation, transmission, and distribution projects.
The Water Security Project, part of the Raízes Program for social development carried out by CPFL Renováveis, helped transform the situation of 807 families in nine rural communities in the municipalities of João Câmara and São Miguel do Gostoso (Rio Grande do Norte). The total investment in the project was R$ 3.5 million.
Digital connectivity between people and equipment, provided by the evolution of telecommunication technologies, has led to a paradigm shift in the energy sector.
Our strategic vision is to promote the construction of a more reliable and secure network, with significant investments in expansion, automation, modernization of equipment, and innovation to generate more efficient consumption of energy resources. in 2019 we invested R$ 2 billion to improve the quality of distribution services for customers.
The Professor Energia, a friendly and playful scientist, is the character created by CPFL Energia for a series of tutorial videos that teach customers how to use the DisCos' digital channels to request services with more agility and convenience. An innovative and fun way to take information and talk about digitization.
We generate positive impacts on society and on the value chain that go beyond the safe and reliable supply of renewable electricity. We have a management structure and tools that help maximize the various benefits of safety campaigns to raise people's awareness, engage with our suppliers to adopt good environmental management and compliance practices, and provide social investments
Instituto CPFL is our company’s main channel for connecting to these communities, thanks to projects that reinforce our commitment to sustainable development and valuing people.
The CPFL nos Hospitais (“CPFL in Hospitals”) Program, launched in 2019, integrates energy efficiency initiatives and private social investment to drive improvements in the service provided by public health institutions. Up to 200 hospitals will benefit from installing solar panels, replacing lightbulbs with more energyefficient LED lights, along with other efficient technologies. To this end, our DisCos will invest R$ 150 million from the Energy Efficiency Program until 2022.
Coordinated by Instituto CPFL, the Semear Program brings together volunteers from the CPFL Group around actions that benefit schools, social assistance institutions and other entities that make a difference in the life of local communities.
The development of our businesses and all the activities we carry out are based on three key facilitators: Employee Development and Inclusion; Ethics; and Transparency.
We believe that qualified and prepared employees, a robust ethics and integrity system, and a corporate culture of inclusion and diversity are essential to achieving the economic, social, and environmental results that generate value for our shareholders and for all of society.
